Congratulations Howard Webb!

Frank  //  Topics

Congratulations to Howard Webb and his team !

They will lead the World Cup finals in Soccer City on Sunday.

The Netherlands against Spain.

Comments:

For us, the World Cup is over. With satisfaction, we look back on 5 weeks in South Africa. We led 3 matches, 2 group matches and one round of 16. I would like to thank my assistants Peter and Walter for their excellent work during this World Cup. Because 2 of our neighbouring countries played the semi-finals, our chances to lead a fourth game became very small. But this is something we have to accept, we work in function of the countries and the teams. On the other hand, we are quite proud to hold the new Belgian record of 7 World Cup matches in our career.

We stay here until the finals. Tuesday morning, at 8.30 am we land in Brussels and will address the national press about our experiences in South Africa.

Fourth official in Germany – Spain…

Frank  //  Topics

FIFA has appointed us as the 4th official in the second semi-finals Germany – Spain on Wednesday.

Peter Hermans will be the 5th official. The match is held in Durban.

Viktor Kassai from Hungary is the referee. The other semi-finals are led by the Uzbek Irmatov.

The group has been slimmed down and for UEFA remain Webb, Kassai and the Belgian team.

This means we stay in South Africa until the end.
